Reciprocal Link Scripts
I have a prediction, after you have been managing and building your internet business for a while, and have more than a couple of sites, the one task that you dislike the most
will be managing your link exchange campaign.
If you want to learn about the importance of reciprocal links please subscribe for a
free SEO guide Incoming links are
essential if you want to have any sort of long term internet marketing success,
so in fact a lot of people sub contract the work out to SEO companies and
contractors. But that's not some thing I would do, especially when it's actually
pretty easy to do yourself when you have a good reciprocal link script.
Here are some of features that you should be looking for in a script or
linking service:
- It creates static search engines friendly pages
- Fully customizable so it fits in with the style of your site
- Checks for the reciprocal link on the other site, plus a host of others checks
- One license - unlimited domains
- Allows your partners to edit their anchor text
- You can manage sister sites automatically, creating the potential for doubling links with relatively little more work
The problem with reciprocal link
scripts is several fold:
They are generally abused by people
looking for a quick overnight solution to their
ranking problem. Abused means that they send out
thousands of link requests without following the
required email etiquette resulting in spam
complaints
They also link to completely non
relevant sites
Lastly the major problem is that
most of the scripts are leaving easily detected foot
prints which the search engines are now looking for
in an effort to weed out link spamming.
In short link successful exchanging
is a much more difficult thing to achieve.
The future is probably article
exchanges with high quality sites, if you can do it.
